Mark Riepe

Charles Schwab & Co.


Speaker Bio

Mark W. Riepe is head of the Schwab Center for Financial Research, the division of Schwab charged with leading the firm's research efforts in the areas of equity, fixed income, and market analysis, as well as financial planning and investment policy. He’s also the host of Schwab’s popular Financial Decoder podcast. 



Prior to joining Schwab, Riepe spent seven years as a vice president with Ibbotson Associates, a Chicago-based consulting firm, and four years at GNP Commodities specializing in financial futures and options research.



He has authored numerous studies on various investment topics that have appeared as book chapters and in top practitioner publications, such as Financial Analysts Journal, Journal of Portfolio Management, and Journal of Financial Planning.



Riepe earned his Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Chicago and his Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Chicago’s Booth School of Business.  He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.
