Amy Florian is the chief executive officer of Corgenius and an acclaimed expert and speaker in the area of grief studies. She blends neuroscience, psychology, and humor in her work, training professionals to build strong relationships with clients through the losses and transitions of life.



Ms. Florian is the author of over 150 articles, as well as the books No Longer Awkward: Communicating with Clients Through the Toughest Times of Life and A Friend Indeed: Help Someone You Love When They Grieve. She has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, MSN Money, Investment News, and CNBC. She taught a graduate course at Loyola University Chicago for nearly 10 years and worked with over 2000 grieving people. Ms. Florian holds a bachelor’s degree from the Iowa State University, a master’s degree in pastoral studies from Loyola University Chicago, and is a Fellow in Thanatology.
