Speaker Bio

Mike Van Wyk brings 20 years’ experience in customer research and behavioral science to his role as the vice president of consumer research and insights for American Funds, a part of the Capital Group.



Previously, Mr. Van Wyk served in a variety of roles for Procter & Gamble, most recently as the director of global strategy development, where he applied consumer and market insights to set and measure P&G’s global growth strategies. He also served as a country leader for shopper and market insights in the UK and Ireland; the associate director for health care consumer and market insights; and held other brand management, marketing, and market research positions. Mr. Van Wyk has a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and a master of business administration degree in marketing from the University of Texas at Austin.
