Robert Sharps

Speaker Bio

Rob Sharps is head of Investments and group chief investment officer of T. Rowe Price. He serves on the firm's Management, International Steering, Equity Steering, Fixed Income Steering, Asset Allocation, and Product Strategy Committees. He is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Group, Inc.



Mr. Sharps has 22 years of investment experience, 20 of which have been with T. Rowe Price. He was the lead portfolio manager for the Institutional Large-Cap Equity Growth  Strategy for 15 years until December 2016. During his portfolio management tenure, T. Rowe Price was twice named Large-Cap Growth Equity Manager of the Year by Institutional Investor magazine. Mr. Sharps joined the firm in 1997 as an analyst, specializing in financial services stocks, including banks, asset managers, and securities brokers. Prior to joining the firm, he completed an internship as an equity research analyst at Wellington Management. Mr. Sharps began his career in 1993 as a senior management consultant at KPMG Peat Marwick, where he focused on corporate transactions, before leaving to pursue his M.B.A. in 1995.



Mr. Sharps earned a B.S., summa cum laude, in accounting from Towson University and an M.B.A. in finance from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He also has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation. Mr. Sharps currently serves on the St. Paul's School Board of Trustees and is chair of the Investment Committee. He previously served six years on Towson University's College of Business and Economics Alumni Advisory Board.
