James O'Hanlon

Speaker Bio

James O’Hanlon brings over 25 years of industry experience—much of it in international sales, trading, portfolio management, and securities operations—to his role as managing director of institutional trading teams at Schwab Advisor Services™. He is responsible for equity, ETF, and options trading for Schwab’s registered investment advisor clients and has helped develop sophisticated pricing tools that provide clients with risk pricing and trading capabilities.



Previously, Mr. O’Hanlon served as managing director of multi-product sales at Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse in Japan. He was also a member of the company’s Japan Equities Operating Committee. Before that, he was the director of convertible bond sales and trading, swaps, equity and credit derivatives, cash equities, and credit, as well as serving as a senior relationship manager. Mr. O’Hanlon began his career as a proprietary trader for several European banks. He holds an executive master of business administration degree from Temple University’s Fox School of Business.
